Thanks a lot for your email to us, Nyamuragira is not longer in operations for tourism activity as its not erapting now, but you can climb Nyiragongo, and this one takes 2 Days.
The most important thing you need to get first is the Visa to get into Congo, as it takes time to get.
You can apply a tourist visa on line for $50 , or get an express one for $285 from the border .
While the permit is $200
Let me know which way you would like get a visa and i will get back to you an itinerary and the cost.
Here you are a proposal but ... you need to know that to go to the
Nyamulagira eruption you need to be 8 people at least or to pay for eight
... see in the program !
The ICCN decided that bc it takes to many guards to organise that.
And if you do that on the 31st .. we will offer champagne ..
The Nyamulagira volcano is not accessible, just three weeks ago they suspended the visit to Nyamulagira, only Nyiragongo is accessible and requests two days to hikie it.
Here is the itinarary:
Day one on 31st: From Goma border, drive to Virunga national park at the ranger station, briefing by the chief ranger, Nyiragongo volcano hiking, overnght up the summit in the shelter. Here you will view well the impressive lava lake and the largest crater in the world.
Day two on 1st January: From the volcano hiking, drive back to the border and that will be the end of our trip.
I have to arrange your tourist visa that will allow you to enter DRCongo and it coast 50$. That visa is organised by Virunga national park.
The coast will be 400$ including your tourist visa, the volcano permit, the transportation, the driver, the fuel, road goverment taxes, the sleeping bag, the rain coat, the porter, chacoals to light fire with up the summit since it is very cold there, armed escort rangers and an english speaking guide.
Not included your meals and tips.
Note: Apart from the volcano hiking, we organize mountain gorillas and low land gorillas trekking, Ruenzori mountain hiking, Goma city tour and some villages visit, traditional pygmies and Okapi visit in Ituri forest, the Congo river expedition and so on. Also, we prganize trips in Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya and Tanzania
Looking forward to hearing from you.
